Coachella Week 1

Week 1 of Coachella 2015 has given us an insight into the trends we will be seeing during the festival season this year. From metallic body art to mermaid hair and fringed kimonos to trademark floral headpieces, we breakdown the tips, tricks and outfit ideas you need to know to find your signature festival style this summer. Your signature look should represent the essence of your style within one outfit. To achieve your unique look, check out the trends we spotted at Coachella this weekend to get inspiration and festival ready.

Creamy Whites

Not usually considered the most sensible apparel for summer festivals, but white was popular amongst many of the Coachella crowd this year. As this festival is held in the Colorado Desert these festival goers did not need to worry about getting their outfits wet and mucky with the California heat.

'70s Fringing

Fringing is suitable on almost all items for festival attire. Boots, skirts, dresses, tops and bags can all be styled with fringing and are equally all on trend. Fringed jackets and waistcoats, in particular, were the rage at Coachella this year with celebs Beyoncé and Fergie as well as models Chanel and Gigi all wearing this ‘70s trend.

Rainbow Hair

Julianne Hough, Kylie Jenner and Jourdan Dunn were amongst those who decided to give their look a unique edge this weekend. This trendy trio chose soft, sweet hues for their dramatic change including aqua blue, bubble-gum pink and a lilac haze. The variation of colours remain similar with their pastel tones and flawless, on trend, summer shades. Copy Kylie’s look by matching your hair to your nails.

Bikini Tops

Styling your outfit with a bikini top is fitting when you’re in Colorado Desert, home of Coachella. Layering with a waistcoat or kimono, like Kendal and Chanel, give the ideal laidback, fashionable look for a festival in the blazing heat.

Statement Silver

A chunky, jewelled necklace is this festival season’s accessory must-have. Team it with a simple outfit to create a fashionable look instantly. Alternatively, adding numerous necklaces together will give the same impact and boost your ensemble giving it that glamorous edge.

Queen Of Coachella

We were drawn towards Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s style this weekend and especially this outfit which succeeded in becoming our favourite look at Coachella 2015 and perhaps our favourite festival outfit of all time. The dreamy Chloé dress paired with a studded Coach shoulder bag exudes a sense of effortless chic which captures festival fashion seamlessly.
